Arkansas Community of Excellence

The Arkansas Community of Excellence (ACE) Program, is designed to empower communities to become the local change agents. The program enhances the overall livability of a community, retain jobs, and enhance a community's competitive position in attracting new jobs and investments.
The mission statement for the ACE Program is to provide a vehicle to enhance the business climate of Arkansas communities through economic preparedness and development. Texarkana was certified as an "ACE" community in 1996 and retains the status.

Lone Star City Certification

The Lone Star City Program is a means to identify and reward cities in East Texas, which formalize Economic Development goals and then demonstrate a commitment to pursuing those goals. The program is intended to promote training and community preparedness as well as the idea that successful Economic Development must be a joint effort between local government and the business community.

Texarkana was certified as a Lone Star City in February 1993 and retains the status.
