The Texarkana Chamber of Commerce is offering a free customer service training program to frontline hospitality workers to provide an educational offering and create awareness of attractions in the area. Hospitality businesses including (but not limited to) restaurants, retailers, hotels and convenience stores are all invited to attend.

 As part of the training you will receive valuable customer service skills to create a welcoming atmosphere and a pleasant service experience for local and non-local customers. In addition, attendees will learn about the Welcome to Texarkana Program.

 Participants in the program will receive Feature Cards – These easy-to-use cards provide several key attractions in the area. The convenient cards can be placed near the cash register as a quick reference guide to Texarkana.

When travelers are told about local attractions by key hospitality workers, they stay longer and spend more money in our city. In contrast, when a hospitality worker states, “There’s nothing to do here” when asked what attractions are in the area, the traveler continues on to another area. The goal is for visitors to stay in Texarkana longer and spend more money…thus strengthening our local economy. 

Whenever you see a Welcome to Texarkana logo, you can be confident that employees are experts on all of the exciting destinations in the area.
